Immortalizing Memories

Was awaken by my mom from my slumber with a news that crushed us all deeply. The news arrived to us so surreal that I thought I was dreaming.

The beginning of a whole new year made me lose one of the most important person in my life. Time sometimes can be so merciless, for it reaps something away from you while you are just close to getting something. It's hard to express everything and everyday, little memories evoked and it kills us a little inside. Good memories of course. We haven't even bid a proper goodbye, how can everything just happen so suddenly?

Rest in peace my favourite aunt, who had been there watching us grow, being there for us throughout the ups and downs. So strong and humorous, always placing the needs of others before yourself.

Dear aunt, there's nothing else I could do for you besides praying for you; I'm no writer, no poet, but I just want to immortalize you into words. You'll always be missed. May you be free from all sorrow and pain and please take care of yourself while you are at the other side.

There's nothing wrong with my post title. But that is probably something that will remind me of you.

Your niece,

S.Y
